Sustainable lubricants for automotive and industrial applications
Responsible action is firmly enshrined in ROWE’s DNA. We aren't committed because it's the trendy thing to do, but because responsibility to future generations forms the basis for growth and further development.
Consequently, we have spent years researching and developing sustainable, future-oriented lubricants for a wide variety of application areas. We drive forward the expansion of our lubricant portfolio using renewable resources in various product categories and aim to be one of the leading market players in this area.
Our research and development activities focus on two subjects:
Sustainable plays an increasingly important role in our ideas and actions. Many drivers are also consciously looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives in their daily mobility. But even manufacturers of commercial vehicles and construction machinery want oils that contribute significantly to greater sustainability.
From the lab to the racetrack and from there to the shelf – a successful development approach, especially for sustainable lubricants
Our involvement in motor sports on our pro in-house team, ROWE RACING, not only makes our hearts beat faster, but also helps us gain crucial insights. In its "mobile laboratory," we research new lubricants, optimize formulations, and create something that no laboratory in the world can replicate: practical testing under extreme conditions. Our sustainable motor oils in the SUNSPEED range in particular have their origins here and have been continuously improved over thousands of test and racing kilometers.
In focus: the sustainable SUNSPEED product range
The new ROWE SUNSPEED® is a motor oil with a biosynthetic base. ROWE SUNSPEED® relies not on mineral base oils, but on base oils containing high-performance synthetic hydrocarbon compounds synthesized entirely from plant biomass. The innovative lubricant combines sustainability with impressive performance.
Innovative high-performance lubricants for commercial vehicles and construction machinery
We don't just research sustainable lubricants for cars – we are also continually developing our products for construction machinery and commercial vehicles further to lessen our impact on the environment. Again, the focus here is on the customer and the specific application. We know well that sustainability is always worth it and aim our development at reducing overall operating costs as well. The result: high-performance lubricants that stand out due to both performance and sustainability.
Our R&D competence for commercial vehicles and construction machinery:
Hydraulic oils
Transmission oils
Multi-function oils
Greases
In focus: the SUNLUB E46 hydraulic oil with Ecolabel distinction
As a pioneer in the market, ROWE is developing a fully synthetic, non-ester-based hydraulic oil with EU ECOLABEL distinction. Specially developed for heavily extended oil service life and high system protection, SUNLUB® E46 guarantees overall operating costs reduced to the minimum.
Highest requirements for performance, economic efficiency, and even sustainability – not a trend, but for many customers, already among their firm requirements. We know about the major challenges involved with CBAM, REACH, and rising energy and labor costs.
Our approach: instead of formulating a special lubricant for each material, we create universally usable metalworking oils that are compatible with a number of materials and processes. Our focus in doing so is on the main applications in the area of metalworking.
We develop cooling lubricants and lubricants for milling, turning, drilling, sanding, and even forming, that not only produce the highest performance, but also meet stringent standards for environmental protection.
Developing Ecolabel lubricants for forming technology
Hightec Sunlub Form 150 Eco is an ester-based, non-water-miscible forming lubricant for pressing plants. Synthetic base oils guarantee excellent additional EP characteristics due to their polar structure. It is suitable for drawing and deep drawing for all sheet qualities with moderate to severe degrees of deformation and can also be used for galvanized sheets or aluminum. The lubricant is compatible with typical corrosion protection oils and steel mill prelubes. Hightec Sunlub Form 150 Eco is non-toxic and can be applied undiluted with all common oiling systems. The oil film that remains on the surface reliably protects the workpiece from corrosion during storage.
Hightec Sunlub Form 46P is a universal, non-water-miscible, low-viscosity high-performance oil with very high additivation. It is suitable for moderate to major forming processes due to its strongly polar components and its pressure-resistant lubricating oil film. Hightec Sunlub Form 46P is chlorine-free and has particularly low atomization, evaporation, and foaming compared to mineral oil-based forming oils. It is especially suitable for pressing, punching, drawing, deep drawing, and fine cutting. Hightec Sunlub Form 46P is suitable for processing steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials.
Developing compatible Ecolabel lubricants
for sanding and chipping
Hightec Sunlub Cut 22 ECO is a high-performance cooling lubricant for chipping. Additions with lubricating and anti-corrosive effects, as well as special EP active agents, help to improve pressure absorption capacity. Hightec Sunlub Cut 22 ECO has particularly low atomization, evaporation, and foaming compared to mineral oil-based products. Hightec Sunlub Cut 22 ECO has good cooling and netting characteristics. It is especially suitable for drilling, turning, and milling steel, stainless steel, cast, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals.
Hightec Sunlub Grind 7 ECO is a cooling lubricant for all common high-speed sanding processes. It has particularly low atomization, evaporation, and foaming. Hightec Sunlub Grind 7 ECO has good rinsing and cooling capabilities due to its low viscosity and has high removal capability, shear stability, and aging resistance. It is also suitable for flute grinding with diamond discs on carbides and sanding with CBN and corundum discs on HSS and carbide materials.
